Itinerary
Day 1: Tashkent
Arrival in Tashkent. Transfer and early check-in at a hotel. Enjoy your breakfast, then head straight on a sightseeing tour of Tashkent—the capital of Uzbekistan and the largest city in Central Asia. Start by visiting the Hast Imam Complex, home to the 7th-century Koran of Usman, and afterward head to Tashkent’s famous Chor-Su bazaar. Enjoy your lunch to regain energy for more sightseeing. Now you head to the Tashkent Subway, known for its unique decorations at each station. Continue to Mustakillik Square (Independence Square), Amir Timur Square, and the Monument to Alisher Navoi. Finally, enjoy your dinner and have a rest.
Day 2: Tashkent — Samarkand
Breakfast, then transfer to the railway station for the high-speed Afrosiyob train to Samarkand. Arrival at 10.10 and sightseeing tour in Samarkand — the undisputed jewel of the Silk Road. Visit the Gur-Emir Mausoleum (15c), a complex of the Registan, including the Madrassahs of Ulugbek (15c), Shir Dor (17c), and Tillya Kari (17c), and the Bibi Khanum Mosque. You will also walk the vibrant alleys of Samarkand’s Suyab Bazaar before lunch. Continue your sightseeing with a visit to the Shah-i-Zinda necropolis (14-15c) and Ulugbek’s observatory (15c), then conclude with the ruins of the Afrosiab archaeological site (6 BC-13 AD). Dinner and night under the stars of Samarkand (reference to the book by Sergei Borodin).
Day 3: Samarkand — Bukhara
Breakfast, then transfer to the railway station for the Afrosiyob express to Bukhara. Arrival at 11.15, transfer and check in at the hotel. Lunch and free time for self-discovery. Dinner and rest before another journey.
Day 4: Bukhara
Breakfast and the beginning of the sightseeing tour in Bukhara. Visit to the Poi-Kalyan Ensemble, including Minaret (12c), Mosque (15c), and functioning madrassahs of Miri-Arab (16 c), Emir-Alim-Khan (14c), Taqi (trading domes), Kukeldash (16c), Nadir Divanbegi (17c), Magok-i-Attari Mosque (16c), Lyab-i-Hauz (17c). Lunch and further wandering through Bukhara. Visit to Registan, Ark Fortress (16c) and Bolo-Hauz complex (18c). Ulugbeg (15c), Abdul Aziz (17c), Ismail Samani mausoleum (9-10c), Chashma-Ayub Mausoleums (14c). Dinner and rest.
Day 5: Bukhara — Khiva
Breakfast and heading to Khiva through the Kyzyl-Kum desert. En route, stop by the banks of the Amu Darya River (the ancient Oxus). Lunch. Arrive in Khiva in the late afternoon and check into a hotel. Dinner, free time, and rest.
Day 6: Khiva
Breakfast and another sightseeing adventure in Khiva. You will dive into the legacy of the Kunya-Ark fortress, including the madrassahs of Kurinish Khana (17c); Mohammed-Amin-Khan (19c), Islam Khodja Minaret; Palvan-Kari complex, Abd Al Bobo complex (18c), Rafanek Madrassah, Mohammed Rakim Khan (19c), Amir-Tur Madrassah, and Sho-I-Kalandar Bobo Mausoleum.
Lunch in Khiva and second part of sightseeing heading to the Mazary Sharif Madrassah, Kheivak well (10c), Uch Avlioli (three saints) Mausoleum, Juma Mosque(18c), Kutluq-Murad Inaq (19c) Madrassah, Pakhlavan Mahmoud Mausoleum, Tash Hauli (stone yard) Palace, Alla-Kuli-Khan(18c), Arab Mohammed Khan (18c) Madrassahs. Dinner and rest.
Day 7: Khiva — Urgench — Tashkent
Breakfast and transfer to Urgench Airport. Flight to Tashkent, check in at a hotel. Lunch and free at leisure time. Farewell dinner in the National House.
