While most travelers head to the Yukhin Peak via Sary-Mogol town, a few start from Kojo-Kelen village, and you are taking the most unusual start from Kara-Koi National Park. Depart from Osh in the morning and drive to Kara-Koi, a national park famous for its untouched mountain landscapes and fresh alpine air. Upon arrival, enjoy a short hike through the scenic gorge filled with pine trees and towering peaks. What an introduction to the marvelous nature of Kyrgyzstan.

Therefore, the walk can be challenging, especially for those not yet acclimated to the altitude. Being patient is crucial, as the effort will reward you with magnificent panoramic views and the tranquil beauty of the surrounding landscape.

After five to six hours of hiking, you will reach the yurt camp hosted by Nurdoolot. The camp is beautifully located next to a clear mountain river in Kosh-Moinok at an altitude of 2,800 meters above sea level.

The path leads through wide-open highland meadows and scenic views of the surrounding peaks. It is a peaceful, quiet area, ideal for preparing, both physically and mentally, for upcoming challenges at the pass.

Prepare for one of the most challenging, yet rewarding, days of the journey. Begin the hike with a steep ascent to Sary-Mogol Pass, located at 4,280 meters above sea level. The path to the top is relatively short (3-4 hours). However, due to the steep incline and high altitude, the ascent requires physical effort.

Once at the top, behold the breathtaking views of alpine lakes, glaciers, rugged rocks, and untouched wilderness. If you are lucky, you may spot mountain goats or herds of yaks grazing near the lakes. Despite the breathtaking views, you will need to go further by descending into the valley, which takes about 2-3 hours. The driver will meet you at the end of the trail and drive you to Sary-Mogol (approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes). Upon arrival in the village, reward yourself with a long-awaited shower and deserved resting time.
